Habitat for Humanity Inc. of The New River Valley builds affordable housing with people who are living in inadeqate housing and are unable to secure housing by conventional means. Home- owner partners are selected based on thier need for adequate shelter, thier ability to pay for the Habitat for Humanity home; and their willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity.
No profit, no interest loans
Habitat sells housing units to homeowner partners with no profit added and finances the payment for housing with no interest charged. House payments are used for the construction of additional affordable housing.

building a house is rewarding, but it is not easy..It requires hours of work. One of the requirements of home owner selection is that home-owners contribute 500 hours of sweat equity by working in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and other volunteers to accomplish Habitat's mission, both locally and worldwide
